You are one of those who have always wanted to leave a mark on the world?

You want to contribute to the goals of understanding the brain
and of emulating it in electronic form?

You feel that the time is ripe for creating true electronic intelligence
but that all existing approaches are stuck and are missing an essential point?

Well, we feel the same way.

If you are
– willing to commit to a common goal of historical significance,
– are creative and
– able to work in the context of a tightly-knitted team,
then let’s start a conversation!

Aspects to be covered

Vision
Existing functional components are to be reformulated in terms of our neural code to be amenable to system integration and learning in a virtual reality environment. Relevant backgrounds could be computer vision / graphics, mathematics and/or software development.

System dynamics
Vast numbers of non-linearly interacting neural signals and synaptic weights are to be set up, diagnosed, mathematically analyzed and controlled in the sense of attractor dynamics. Relevant backgrounds could be theoretical physics, mathematics or experience with dynamic system simulation.

Software platform
A strong software framework is to serve as harness for dynamic system simulation in a massively parallel environment and for collaboration among a distributed team. Relevant as background is experience with professional software design.

Demonstrator development
A vision system with steadily growing functional capability is to be grown as demonstrator of an entirely new intelligent-technology base and of application scenarios. Relevant background could be experience in product development, imagination and communication skills.

Technical team leader
Responsibility for designing the development process and guiding the technical team needs a strong leader with appropriate track record and standing in the hi-tech business world.

Platonite’s Philosophy
It is not enough to transfer human performance into algorithms or into neural networks task by task. The breathtaking speed with which children learn to cope with the reality surrounding them, to represent it in their brains, to speak about it and to realize their intention in novel situations shows that the brain is in possession of a structural principle that is yet untapped by technology.

We at Platonite believe we are unique in being in possession of that structural principle – the specific neural code generating and representing mental content in the brain.

Platonite is set to demonstrate human-level intelligence technology by growing an artificial vision system to be trained within a virtual reality environment. The system will be based on the integration between part functions (such as motion detection, shape perception, segmentation or invariant recognition). The natural basis for this integration is our homogeneous neural code as shaped by network self-organization.
